OPINION: What Raila will tell his supporters on 25th

NASA presidential candidate, Raila Odinga is on the limelight again after promising to give a final declaration on 25th October, a day before the presidential election. Earlier on, Raila had mentioned what many thought is his final declaration but twisted the moves during his parallel Mashujaa event in Bondo. Earlier on, the NASA chief had declared that their supporters will not take part in the election and that they will hold a national demonstration, a statement that did not go well with president Uhuru Kenyatta who warned against any plan to disrupt the exercise. Raila then discovered that president Kenyatta was unmoved by the threat (his prior threats had moved the president significantly) he decided to issue a different version of the same. Mr Odinga's last minute declarations are known to be predictable. During the 2002 presidential election, he had publicly promised to support Ford People's Simon Nyachae but took a last minute move and declared support for NARC's M

President Uhuru's Mashujaa Day Speech

Fellow Kenyans, I am very pleased to lead the celebration of the 8th Mashujaa Day; a day we have set aside to remember our heroes of the past. These are men and women of courage and patriotism, who chose service over self; men and women who have sacrificed themselves in one way or the other for the sake of peace and stability of this great nation. As their sons and daughters, we have a duty to remember them honourably. That, Ladies and Gentlemen, is what we gather to do today; this day is theirs. We also gather to give thanks for the progress we have made, on the political and economic front. Heroes who preach and safeguard peace, men and women who put the interests of this nation ahead of their personal ambitions. We are free to express our opinions without fear of retribution; we can move freely, live and work anywhere in the country without requiring a pass; and we can vote to elect leaders of our choice. I wish to remind you, Kenyans of African Origin could not vote until 1957.

Ongwae omits Mzee Kenyatta from his Mashujaa list, resolves on Raila, Orengo

Kisii county governor, James Ongwae, amazed the public while addressing citizens during Mashujaa Day celebrations in Gusii Stadium. In his speech, Ongwae did not mention Mzee Jomo Kenyatta, Dedan Kimathi and other Mau Mau fighters but resolved to acknowledge Raila Odinga and James Orengo, alongside other outspoken Gusii heroes, saying that their fight for multiparty democracy is supreme. Ongwae also acknowledged the Kisii boda boda team for taking part in rescuing the trapped casualties in the recently collapsed Mwembe building. The governor took much of his time to show how his government is working to ensure construction safety, and the plans he has to expand Kisii town feeder roads. Ongwae called on Raila Odinga and president Uhuru Kenyatta to participate in dialogue and solve the current political crisis in the country. Governor Ongwae is a staunch ODM member and a key figure in the national opposition from Kisii county.

Matiang'i on the Limelight over Chinkororo remarks

Education CS Fred is on the limelight once again after uttering remarks that have been received as negative to the country's security status. In his address to Jubilee supporters in Etago Kisii County, Matiang'i said that he is not in fear of any politician, directly calling himself 'Enkororo' (singular for Chinkororo), the former traditional Gusii warriors. "...anybody playing with me should know that I don't fear him/her. I am an Enkororo," Matiang'i said in Ekegusii. The CS then urged the Abagusii to ignore violence and emulate peace so as to uphold peace and avoid losing property. A group of socialites have since then sparked an online war with the CS saying that Chinkororo is an outlawed militia and should face state opposition. Others have then urged the CS to resign while others have urged the director of public of prosecution to investigate him. Matiang'i has been silent over the matter since its initialisation.

Top Political Slogans 2017

Politics need the power of an individual to move a crowd with strong words, or even words. This electioneering period was not a waste over the sane. It was so far Kenya's best in invention of new slogans and songs that helped politicians to pull and attract mamoth crowds. For instance, the Jubilee and NASA parties had a song each, that helped in entertaining their supporters in rallies. After songs, politicians from each side had slogans that they used to air their views and manifestos with. Here are some of the slogans that were most popular: 1.Tano Tena Tano tena, Swahili for Five Again, is an improvised version of the 'Kibaki Tena' slogan that was used to fuel the reelection of the immediate former president, Mwai Kibaki. This slogan was mostly used by the ruling party Jubilee to seek its reelection for another term of five years. It was a must-mention phrase in all rallies attended by the Jubilee party. This phrase was also used by some other politicians who were seekin
