Nyambaria Boys High School

Nyambaria High School is a secondary school located in Nyamira County, Kenya. It is a Seventh-day Adventist school that was established in 1966 as a small school, with few dormitories, but has grown considerably since then. Nyambaria School now has a student population of 1150. It is part of the Seventh-day Adventist Church's worldwide educational system. Campus Presently, the school has twenty one classrooms, three laboratories, a computer lab, a capacity library, a woodwork shop, 14 dormitories and much else besides. It is located in a hilly neighbourhood nicknamed "London" for its affluence. Among the school's athletic facilities are: a swimming pool, football, handball, rugby, hockey and volleyball pitches, basketball and tennis courts. The school has an active record in co-curricular activities having reached the nationals levels in drama, rugby, music, science congress and indoor games. George Moseti Anyona

Anyona was born in 1945 in Tombe Village, Kitutu Masaba, Kenya . He attended Tombe Primary School and Sengera Intermediate School before proceeding to the prestigious Alliance High School . From Alliance, he proceeded to Makerere University, Uganda where he studied Political Science , English, Economics and History. Before he ventured into politics in 1974, he worked for British Airways in Nairobi. Rise to politics The same year he ventured into politics, he won the then Kitutu East Parliamentary seat. Anyona's political troubles began in 1977 when he was detained without trial by then President Jomo Kenyatta. He was released a year later by President Daniel arap Moi soon after he assumed power following the death of President Kenyatta. Anyona would again land in trouble in 1982, this time with his longtime friend and veteran politician Jaramogi Oginga Odinga. Simeon Nyachae Simeon Nyachae (born 6 February 1932 in Nyaribari, Kisii District) is a Kenyan politician and ex-minister from Kisii District of Nyanza Province . Biography He was born in Nyaribari location on 6 Feb. 1932 to the then powerful colonial chief of the location Musa Nyandusi. Nyachae's earlier exposure to western education was facilitated by his own father, himself a mission-educated graduate who used his strong influence and acquittance to the colonial administrators to be appointed chief. Born into a large polygamous family, Nyachae was fortunate that his father developed a particular liking for him, more than his elder brother James Oiruria, who apparently was less talkative and outgoing than Simon Nyachae. In 1941, his father put him in Nyanchwa Seventh-day Adventist School and later in 1947, he joined Kereri intermediate school. Governor John Nyagarama

John Nyagarama Obiero was born in 1946 and went on to attain a Bachelor of Education degree from the University of Nairobi. He has worked extensively in the tea sector in Nyanza and Rift Valley, serving as a director at various tea factories such as Nyansiongo Tea Factory Company Limited and Chai Trading Company Limited and representing Nyamira in the Kenya Tea Development Agency (KTDA). He has also served as a director and chairman of Kenya Tea Packers Limited (KETEPA). He is a lawyer by profession and is experienced in private practice. In Kenya’s 2013 general election, John vied in the gubernatorial elections, winning as Governor of Nyamira County, alongside Deputy Governor Amos Kimwomi Nyaribo . The Abagusii Community

The Kisii (also known as AbaGusii) is a community of Bantu people who inhabit two counties: Kisii (formerly Kisii District ) and Nyamira in Nyanza Province , Western Kenya. Gusii is the fond reference to their homeland and Mogusii is culturally identified as their founder and patriarch. Kisii town - known as Bosongo by the locals - is located in Nyanza Province to the southwest of Kenya and is home to the Gusii people. The name Bosongo is believed to have originated from Abasongo (to mean the Whites) who lived in the town during the colonial times. According to the 1979 census, Kisii District had a population of 588,000. The AbaGusii increased to 2.2 million in the latest Kenya Census 2009.
