Politics need the power of an individual to move a crowd with strong words, or even words. This electioneering period was not a waste over the sane. It was so far Kenya's best in invention of new slogans and songs that helped politicians to pull and attract mamoth crowds. For instance, the Jubilee and NASA parties had a song each, that helped in entertaining their supporters in rallies. After songs, politicians from each side had slogans that they used to air their views and manifestos with. Here are some of the slogans that were most popular:
1.Tano Tena
Tano tena, Swahili for Five Again, is an improvised version of the 'Kibaki Tena' slogan that was used to fuel the reelection of the immediate former president, Mwai Kibaki. This slogan was mostly used by the ruling party Jubilee to seek its reelection for another term of five years. It was a must-mention phrase in all rallies attended by the Jubilee party. This phrase was also used by some other politicians who were seeking reelection in the junior posts.
2. NASA HAO
This was the main phrase used by the opposition to help show the alleged ills of the government. It is a Swahili phrase that literary means 'Trap Them'. It was first used by NASA principal Musalia Mudavadi who added vocal strength to its normality to give it flavour.
3. Tuko Pamoja
This is Jubilee party's motto. The Swahili slogan means 'We are together', an attempt to unite all tribes. The motto was at times ruling the airs if major Jubilee rallies across the country.
4. Ama Namna Gani
Deputy President William Ruto is the mastermind of this phrase. He could end almost all his sentences with it to directly engage the audience. In most cases, he attached it to funny sentiments to help bring up humour in rallies.
